Sh. Manmohan Singhal was born at Kurukshetra on March 2, 1947. He got B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry (Honours) and completed M.Sc. in mathematics from Kurukshetra University in 1968. Family owned large farmland and Mr. Singhal followed his passion of being an agriculturist and founded VPS Agro Oils Pvt. Ltd., Kurukshetra in 1973.
Soon with his keen interest and will to experiment, he earned the name of a progressive farmer of the area. Cold storage of onions had been a real problem, with his experiments he invented a new combination of temperature, humidity and storage parameters that could result in successful storage of onions for a long time. Since then cold storage industry is following this technique.
Sh. Manmohan Singhal lead a socially active life and had been associated with numerous commercial, industrial, and social organizations. Key among them are; Founder Director of Central State Cooperative Bank, Kurukshetra, President of Haryana State Cold Storage Association, National Vice president of All India Hand Paper Marketing Association, and Member State Executive of Haryana State Red Cross Society. He was also the President of the Haryana Chamber of Commerce & Industry. For more than 20 years he was associated with the management of educational institutions such as Aggarsen Public School Kurukshetra, Shri Jai Ram Vidya Peeth that manages a Polytechnic for Girls in Kurukshetra.
He was one of the founder members of SRSMT. We lost him in a tragic car accident on February 22, 2002. Indeed it has been a great loss to society, SRSMT, and the family. We always pray for peace for his soul.
