With an aim to inculcate knowledge about Indian education system among the students of ACE, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and IETE Students Forum (ISF) at Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research organized a Declamation Contest on “Traditional Education System Vs Modern Education System” on 16/11/2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s First Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad celebrated as National Education Day. The event started with Introduction of the topic by Nawasha student of B.Tech 4th Year Biotechnology. Around 100 students from different branches registered for participation in this event. However, only 18 students got selected for declamation contest on 16/11/2022. All the participants were briefed about the rules of declamation. The language allowed for declamation were English and Hindi only. Each participant was allowed to speak for a maximum of 5 minutes. Participants presented their views on traditional and modern education system. Participants discussed the pros and cons of ancient and modern education system by taking examples from the history of education system in India.
Traditional and modern educations are both related to each other and different from each other also. Participants said that it is difficult to infer that which education is better. Both the types have their own importance. Modern education is inherited from the traditional education. But due to modern education, traditional education is being neglected which would result in losing our culture. The traditional education and the modern education, both should be given equal importance.
All the participants participated very enthusiastically in this event and enhanced their knowledge in the domain of education. The participants were judged by Dr. Monica Khanna, Head of, APS Department, and Mr. Ajay Pal Singh, Training and Placement Officer.
At the end, the result of the contest was announced and the three position holders were awarded prizes. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize was won by Dheeraj (1st year ), Rishita Singhal (2nd Year), and Abhay (1st Year) respectively.
On this occasion, Dr. Kamal Kumar Sharma, Principal and Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dean Academics encouraged all the participants with their words of motivation. The event ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Vijay Kumar Anand, Head, ECE Department.
