14th ANNUAL BLOOD DONATION CAMP
14th Annual Blood Donation Camp was organized on 24th March 2018. Blood Donation is ranked the best form of service to God. It is a regular feature of the college to commemorate the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, Sukhdev Ji and Rajguru Ji. The Camp was organized with the help of Rotary and Blood Bank Society, Resource Centre, Sector-37, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. K.K. Jain Past President Rotary Club, Ambala Cantt, Rtn. Rajesh Sharma, Ambala Cantt,Dr. Manish Rai, Director of Rotary & Blood Bank Resource Centre, Chandigarh. Mrs. Vinod Trehan, a lifelong member of Blood Bank Society, Chandigarh also graced the occasion.Dr. Monica Khanna, HOD Applied Sciences & Humanities apprised the audience about the achievements of the guest, followed by a floral tribute to Martyrs by all dignitaries.
An informative speech on Blood Donation was delivered by Mr. Pushpinder Sharma, CSE 1st Year. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, ME 1st Year reminded the audience about our freedom struggle and sacrifice of our national heroes in her patriotic speech. The whole atmosphere was filled with the feelings of patriotism & love for our country by the patriotic song sung by the college choir. Everyone observed one-minute silence in the memory of martyrs.
Dr. K.K. Jain in his inaugural address appreciated the initiative taken up by the students and management of the college. He also motivated the students for coming forward in the direction of social, moral, intellectual and economic development of the country. The number of volunteers who came forward to donate blood was around 100 and 72 units of blood were collected at the camp. The donors were served fruits, juice, and sweets as refreshment. The blood donors were also facilitated with a certificate and a token to appreciate their good deed. The event came to an end with Vote of Thanks by Gp. Capt. C S Sharma (Retd.), Registrar followed by National Anthem.
